Job Overview

The Asset Protection Manager is responsible for developing, managing, and executing strategies to protect company assets, minimize shrinkage (due to loss, theft, fraud, or damage), and promote a secure and compliant operating environment across all locations. This role supports both field and home office operations and reports directly to the Director of Asset Protection.

Requirements

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Implement and oversee programs focused on the prevention, detection, and resolution of internal, external, and operational risks.
  • Monitor and control risk through proactive data analysis, compliance audits, and CCTV review.
  • Execute initiatives to reduce inventory and controllable losses across assigned locations.
  • Build strong, trust-based relationships with teams by promoting fairness, honesty, and transparency.
  • Deliver training and coaching to leadership and staff on asset protection policies, procedures, and safety protocols.
  • Review informational and exception-based reporting systems to identify procedural losses.
  • Conduct investigations into criminal activity, develop strategies for resolution, and follow through with prosecution and/or restitution processes.
  • Maintain and routinely audit all physical security controls, including CCTV, alarmed doors, and duress alarms.
  • Develop detailed “shut down” and emergency protocols for facilities to ensure full property security.
  • Manage the first aid and emergency response program for both guests and employees.
  • Coordinate and lead special security assessments and inspections as needed.

Technical Requirements

  • Technologically proficient with a strong background in CRM platforms, A.I.-based tools, and systems integration.
  • Experience with enterprise systems such as Vaido, NetSuite Oracle, and Google Workspace.
  • Familiarity with both back-of-house and front-of-house POS systems and how they tie into operational reporting and shrink control.
  • Ability to interpret and act upon exception-based reporting from inventory and POS systems.

Travel Requirements

  • Must be able to travel 7–15 days per month, typically in 4–5 day intervals.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 5–8 years of experience in asset protection/loss prevention within a retail or operational setting.
  • At least 2 years of multi-location leadership or supervisory experience, preferably with a large-scale or high-volume operation.
  • Strong investigative and interviewing skills; W-Z (Wicklander-Zulawski) certification preferred.
  • Advanced knowledge of security systems, investigative techniques, and compliance protocols.
  • High level of discretion and confidentiality.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Self-starter with excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to support a growing department with a strong focus on teaching, coaching, and prevention

Compensation

Salary is commensurate with experience and qualifications. Final compensation will be determined based on a variety of factors, including education, specific skills, and prior experience.
