About This Position

Must be available to work some weekends and holidays*

Hours: 8:30am to 5pm

The Food Service Director plans, directs, and coordinates activities for a single-site, stand-alone food service operation in a facility with fewer than 1,000 inmates/beds. Oversees operational and financial responsibilities, supervises staff, and ensures food preparation, serving, and cleanup are handled efficiently in a secure correctional environment.

Essential Functions/Core Responsibilities

• Oversee daily activities and assign responsibilities
• Train and orient employees
• Ensure safety and sanitation standards
• Plan and inspect work of staff
• Maintain sanitary environment and comply with regulations
• Assist with meal preparation as needed
• Perform other duties as assigned
• Physical demands include lifting, bending, pushing, and standing for extended periods

What You'll Need

• High School Diploma or Equivalent, at least 18 years old
• Five years of management or supervisory experience in food service
• ServSafe Certification
• Knowledge of sanitation and safety standards
• Basic accounting and math skills
• Experience in institutional or restaurant food service preferred
