Mail and Package Handler

Overview:
This position supports both mailroom and copy center operations at a campus site. Responsibilities include handling incoming/outgoing mail and packages, supporting print production, assisting students and staff, and maintaining equipment. The role requires strong customer service, attention to detail, and the ability to work on your feet in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

• Receive shipments from delivery carriers and check in packages
• Lift and move items up to 50 lbs
• Deliver mail and packages across campus
• Assist students and staff at service counters
• Process mail using postage meters; apply correct postal terminology
• Operate high-volume copy and imaging equipment
• Complete finishing tasks (binding, stapling, cutting, hole punching)
• Use shrink-wrap machine, jogger, paper cutter, and other bindery tools
• Run reports and track job charges using PC software
• Perform basic copier maintenance and supply checks
• Maintain cleanliness and stock of copier/mail areas
• Answer phones and respond to customer inquiries
• Handle incoming/outgoing faxes and office supply distribution
• Support meeting room setup, light building maintenance, and occasional cleaning
• Perform receptionist duties and data entry as needed
• May travel between buildings on campus
• Work Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED
• 1-2 years of experience in customer service (retail or restaurant preferred)
• Strong verbal and written communication; neat handwriting
• Good computer skills for email, tracking, and job processing
• Ability to stand, walk, and lift up to 50-55 lbs throughout the day
• Dependable, team-oriented, and willing to learn
• Follows instructions, maintains positive attitude and strong work ethic
• Business casual dress (clean jeans and tennis shoes allowed)
• No smoking allowed on campus, including in personal vehicles
• May require valid driver's license per policy
