Description:

The SJCOS Sr Director - Business Development is responsible for driving surgical case growth for SJCOS. This includes building a strong pipeline of new cases with a primary focus on Workers Compensation, expanding additional service lines, and increasing same-store utilization with existing physicians in alignment with the facilitys budget.

This role develops and executes a local market strategy by cultivating relationships with physicians, referral sources, payers, and key stakeholders. The Facility Business Development Manager manages the entire growth process from lead generation and relationship building through onboarding and operational hand-off, ensuring smooth integration into the facilitys daily operations.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 7 years previous experience in sales, healthcare or relevant industry/function
  • Bachelors degree in related field
  • Thorough knowledge of MS Office
  • Must have excellent attention to detail, follow through and communications skills with all levels within the organization with the ability to articulate sound financial analysis and cost justifications
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to make presentations to physicians and cultivate ongoing relationships
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work in an unstructured environment
  • Travel required up to 75%

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in healthcare sales

Essential Functions

  • Workers Compensation Growth Identify, develop, and maintain relationships with WC payers, adjusters, case managers, attorneys, and referring providers to drive increased WC surgical volume at the facility.
  • Specialty Expansion Pursue targeted opportunities to add new service lines and expand existing specialties, based on market demand and facility capabilities.
  • Same-Store Growth Collaborate with individual physicians to identify growth opportunities, align case volume goals with the facility budget, and provide support to increase utilization of the surgery center.
  • Physician Engagement Build strong relationships with current and prospective physicians to understand their needs, facilitate onboarding, and enhance their engagement with the facility.
  • Market Development Conduct market research to identify referral sources, competitors, and trends impacting surgical volume; develop action plans to capture market share.
  • Growth Planning & Reporting Partner with facility leadership to develop and execute an annual business development plan; track progress against goals and report activities and outcomes in a timely manner.
  • Budget Alignment Work closely with the Administrator and corporate team to ensure business development initiatives support the facilitys pro forma and annual financial targets.
  • Community & Stakeholder Outreach Represent the facility at community events, professional associations, and industry functions to promote services and develop referral relationships.
  • Compliance & Documentation Maintain accurate records of outreach activities, leads, and referral relationships; submit timely and accurate expense reports in accordance with the Travel Policy.
