BASE PAY RANGE: $25.00/hr - $25.00/hr
Salary details: Commissioned Officer $51,984.00/yr ($24.99231/hr); Emergency Services Trainee (Academy) $37,998/yr ($18.2683/hr). Salary negotiable based on experience. If the candidate is not a commissioned officer, starting salary is $37,998.21/yr while attending the police academy. Upon graduation and commissioning, salary increases to $51,984/yr.
JOB SUMMARY/Scope: Enforces federal, state and local laws, statutes and ordinances. Protects the lives and property of citizens. Assists in the investigation of various cases. This role has no supervisory or budgetary responsibilities.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Material and Equipment Directly Used
Operates a variety of equipment including police vehicle, radio, radar, breathalyzer, weapons (sidearm, shotgun, handcuffs, baton, mace, flashlight) and related equipment; uses office equipment (telephone, computer, copier, photography).
Working Environment/Physical Requirements
Some work is in an office setting; exposure to extreme weather, and highly intense situations. Physical activity includes bending, walking, lifting, standing, running and stooping. Exposure to dust, fumes and temperature changes. May involve exposure to blood and other bodily fluids. Visual acuity and color perception required; normal hearing needed. Occasional intense physical contact during arrests; occasional sprinting during apprehensions. Ability to work in varied environments and on stairs, traffic areas and uneven surfaces. Refrain from using tobacco on duty.
Education
High school diploma or equivalent required. Associate's degree in Criminal Justice preferred.
