SUMMARY:

The cost analyst maintains the integrity of formulations and standard costs in mainframe systems SAP. Provides accurate and detailed cost estimates in support of marketing initiatives as well and contribution to cost savings projects budget planning and financial analysis for weekly performance estimates and reporting.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Maintains existing cost accounting system.

Ensure accuracy of cost of production including meat ingredient packaging labor and overhead components.

Analyzes and reports cost of production through weekly and monthly manufacturing variance to standards.

Develops and maintains strong working knowledge of production processes which includes regular observation and interaction on the production floor.

Supports lean manufacturing activities to drive cost saving initiatives.

Works with support departments to properly record disposal of obsolete materials.

Maintains and develops business relationships with maintenance operations engineering and materials management.

Provides credible, accurate, thorough, and in-depth financial analysis in support of plant operations.

Supports other finance functionality including asset inventory control and spending audits.

Provides labor analysis.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: Bachelor's degree preferred. preferably in accounting, business, meat science, or related field.

Experience: Five years manufacturing experience preferred. Key insights into cost savings initiatives.

Computer Skills: Strong knowledge of Excel.

Other Skills: Independent judgement with analytical skills. Problem solving, resourcefulness, demonstration of business acumen, and creative thinking skills required. Demonstration of Tyson's core values - caring, commitment, candor, collaboration, and creativity. Ability to multi-task and have project management skills.
