Duties:
  • As a Civil Litigation Associate Attorney, your work will be dynamic and multifaceted.
  • You will manage your own caseload from inception through resolution, drafting pleadings, motions, and discovery requests while maintaining strict attention to deadlines and detail.
  • You will prepare for and attend depositions, hearings, and trials, gaining valuable courtroom experience.
  • Collaboration is a key component of this role. You will work closely with clients, experts, and fellow attorneys to develop effective litigation strategies.
  • Regular client communication will include status updates and interim written reports.
  • Will also conduct thorough legal research and draft memoranda to support case strategy while working alongside partners and senior attorneys to ensure efficient case management.
Qualifications:
  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school
  • Admission to the New York State Bar
  • 3-5 years of civil litigation experience, preferably on the defense side
  • Strong experience drafting and arguing dispositive motions
  • Proficiency in legal research, writing, and responding to discovery
  • Experience assisting with trials and hearings
  • Ability to take and defend fact witness and expert depositions
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and communication skills
  • Primary practice areas include Transportation, Construction Litigation, and Tort Liability.
  • Proactive problem solvers with excellent communication and organizational abilities who thrive both independently and in collaborative team environments.
  • A solid foundation in federal and state court procedures, along with experience preparing and reviewing litigation documents, is essential.
