divh2Sterile Processing Tech Part Time/h2pThis position is responsible for cleaning, packaging, sterilizing, and storing the supplies, instruments, and equipment./ppstrongMinimum Qualifications/strong/pulliDemonstrated understanding of sterilization principles required/liliExperience in central processing functions preferred/liliConstant and frequent judgment and response required/liliEnglish language skills and communication required/liliSPD certification required/li/ulpstrongEssential Functions/strong/pulliAdheres to the sterilization process policies and procedures/liliCleans each item according to manufacturers instruction/liliInspects instruments under microscope for damage and defects; lubricates items as required/liliDetermines that each item is in good working condition/liliSorts and arranges items into proper trays according to established policy and procedure/liliWraps trays and individual items according to established policy and procedure/liliAccurately labels each item with name and expiration date/liliCorrectly operates sterilizers, ultrasonic washer and other equipment for processing items/liliPositions items correctly in sterilizer and selects proper cycle; seeks assistance when needed/liliChecks indicators for proper functioning/liliPerforms required biological monitoring tests on all sterilizers according to established policy and procedures/liliMaintains availability of supplies for continuity or recording throughout sterilization process/liliCleans sterilizers according to established policies and procedures/liliMaintains inventory levels and accurate records/liliPerforms weekly inspections of all sterile items in the facility/liliChecks for outdated items and package integrity of wrapped sterilized items; replaces items as necessary/liliPlaces items in correct location/liliMaintains adequate inventory of supplies for the sterile processing area/liliMaintains and updates the instrument ray inventory list/liliMaintains current information regarding routine preference cards/liliAccurately document count of items sent to and returned by laundry/li/ulpstrongPhysical Demands/strong/ppThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
