Job DescriptionJob DescriptionThe position provides essential support to the managing attorney of the firm and staff in a fast-paced law office by managing legal documentation, ensuring efficient case management, keeping communication moving between the attorney and clients. This is an in-person, Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm job. Top skills required include: proficiency in M.S. Word, Excel, and Outlook email and calendaring; protection of client confidentiality both in and away from the office; strong ability to multi-task and meet deadlines.This position will require an individual who is well-spoken, highly organized, responsive, and able to successfully handle multiple projects simultaneously. In addition to supporting the managing attorney in this firm, this person will also cross-train to support the other attorneys and staff.Legal Administrative Assistant Job Duties:* Establishes and organizes client files.* Conducts regular reviews of client files to ensure client matters are handled in a timely manner, meeting deadlines, and billed at appropriate times.* Keeps clients informed by maintaining contact and communicating status updates as directed by the attorney.* Prepares accounting spreadsheets for Probate Court and trust administrations.* Communicates regularly with attorney to prioritize tasks, ensure progress, and meet deadlines.* Communicates well with established and new clients, attorneys, staff members, city/county/state office administrators, governmental institutions, insurance companies, and financial institutions.* Assists staff as necessary to prepare materials for mediation conferences; organizes and assembles materials for team case review; prepares exhibits.Attorney Support:* Manages attorney's personal and professional calendar; schedules appointments, in-person and telephone conferences.* Schedules and reports the attorney's continuing legal education (CLE) hours.* Provides the main point of contact with clients on behalf of the attorney.* Assists with conference room set-up for electronic meetings and teleconferencing.* Documents case progression; enters documents and information into Missouri CaseNet system and in-house matter management software; confirms case status with attorney.* Establishes and organizes client files.Company DescriptionMorton Reed Counts Briggs & Robb is a small law firm, well-established in the community, with 5 full-time practicing attorneys.
