We are representing a stable, growing industrial equipment manufacturer seeking a Field Service Engineer to support complex, custom‑built testing systems used across automotive, aerospace, and advanced manufacturing environments.
This is a hands‑on, customer‑facing role focused on troubleshooting, repair, calibration, and startup of large‑scale capital equipment —including systems that can be the size of an entire room.
Position Overview This role supports highly engineered testing equipment in the field. You will diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, and system‑level issues, perform equipment startup and calibration, and train customers on proper operation.
This is not a basic maintenance or calibration‑only role —it requires strong troubleshooting ability across multiple systems.
Key Responsibilities Troubleshoot and repair complex industrial equipment (mechanical, electrical, and electronic systems)
Read and interpret electrical schematics and wiring diagrams to diagnose system failures
Perform equipment startup, commissioning, and calibration
Support software configuration, updates, and system integration
Train customers on equipment operation and best practices
Document service activity and maintain accurate reporting
Build customer relationships and support service contract growth (10% incentive)
Required Qualifications 3–10+ years of field service, equipment maintenance, or technical service experience
Strong ability to read and troubleshoot electrical schematics, wiring, and circuits
Experience working on complex equipment or capital machinery (not basic maintenance)
Hands‑on troubleshooting across: Mechanical systems (motors, drives, moving components)
Electrical/electronic systems

Ability to diagnose issues such as: Equipment not powering or initializing
Motors or rotating components not functioning
Electrical faults (heating elements, lamps, controls, etc.)

Comfortable working independently in customer‑facing environments
Preferred Experience Field Service Engineer background supporting OEM or industrial equipment
Exposure to high voltage systems
Experience with calibration, testing equipment, or instrumentation
Familiarity with CRM systems (Salesforce or similar)
ISO/IEC 17025 or similar calibration standards (nice to have)
What This Role Is NOT (Important) This role is not a fit for candidates who have experience limited to:
Sensor or gauge calibration only
Facilities maintenance or building systems
Narrow skillsets without electrical troubleshooting or schematic reading
Why This Opportunity Established, global organization with low turnover and long‑tenured team (20+ years)
Growth driven by retirements and expansion
Exposure to highly specialized, custom‑built equipment
Strong compensation package with bonus and company vehicle
Opportunity to build long‑term career in a stable, technical environment
