Lead Line Cook

We are currently seeking a Lead Line Cook This position will work PM shifts to oversee the kitchen for the Drum Room historic bar and Providence restaurant. Candidates should be self-motivated and excel with minimum supervision.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (other duties may be assigned)

• Assisting, supporting, training and developing kitchen team members.
• Preparing fish, meats, and other food items according to recipes and company standards.
• Overseeing work of other kitchen team members.
• Inspecting all food sent from the kitchen visually.
• Ensuring compliance with food safety, cleanliness and sanitation standards.
• Preparing requisitions for food and supplies, as needed.
• Assisting with menu development.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Three or more years of related culinary experience, including supervisory experience, is strongly preferred.
• Ability to obtain a Kansas City Food Handler permit is required.

ABILITIES

• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including days, evenings, weekends and holidays to meet business needs.
• Ability to demonstrate knowledge of menu and all food products.
• Ability to communicate effectively.
• Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
• Ability to make continuous and repetitive arm-hand movements (i.e. slicing or chopping food).
• Ability to bend or stoop repeatedly during the shift (i.e. removing items from stoves, ovens and refrigerators).
• Ability to lift and carry between 20-50 lbs over short distances (20 feet or less).

COMPENSATION

• $21.00 - $23.00 per hour starting pay.
• $500 bonus after your first 90 days.
