Assist with all aspects of plant/corporate purchasing operations, including capital expenditures and budgetary controls. Responsible for purchasing materials, supplies, and services; selecting sources; maintaining purchase records and contacting suppliers. Assist other departments when necessary in searching for new sources, products, and developments. Review requisitions and create purchase orders. Negotiate with suppliers on quality, warranty, price, and delivery.

Education and/or Experience: Must have a minimum of three (3) years of purchasing experience within the last five (5) years or a B.S. degree with an emphasis in Business, e.g., Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, or Marketing.
Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents in the English language, such as safety files, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of an organization.
Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Reasoning Ability: Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardizing situations.
Other Skills and Abilities: The employee must be familiar with personal computers and all standard programs used by the industry. The ability to learn and effectively use any and all other computer programs that are or will be made available. The ability to be flexible in work duties and to expand knowledge of the work area. 10 key by touch.
Physical Demands: The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment: The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet.
