Position OverviewThe chemist supports laboratory operations by performing routine analytical testing, preparing samples, and assisting in the development, verification, and documentation of laboratory methods. This role focuses on ensuring product quality, regulatory compliance, and accurate data reporting within a manufacturing environment. The chemist follows established procedures, maintains lab equipment, and upholds strict safety and quality standards while contributing to daily lab workflow and continuous improvement efforts.Perform routine analytical tests on raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products following established methods and SOPs.Prepare chemical solutions, reagents, and standards for laboratory testing.Accurately document test results, maintain laboratory records, and ensure data integrity.Calibrate, operate, and maintain laboratory instruments such as pH meters, balances, spectrophotometers, titrators, and chromatographic systems.Support investigations by identifying out‑of‑specifications or abnormal results and assisting with root‑cause analysis.Follow all safety, quality, and regulatory guidelines (GMP, GLP, and company policies).Assist in method development, validation, and continuous improvement activities as needed.Maintain a clean, organized laboratory environment and ensure proper storage and handling of chemicals.Communicate results and observations clearly to supervisors, engineers, and production teams.Participate in training, cross‑training, and ongoing skill development to support laboratory operations.The QualificationsBachelor's degree in chemistry, biology, or a related scientific field required.1 year verifiable experience in a laboratory using GC or LC instrumentation.Preferred ExperienceStrong understanding of basic chemical principles, analytical techniques, and laboratory practices.Experience with common lab instrumentation such as balances, pH meters, titrators, spectrophotometers, or chromatography equipment.Ability to follow detailed procedures, maintain accurate records, and ensure data integrity.Strong problem‑solving skills with the ability to identify deviations and troubleshoot routine issues.Solid math skills and proficiency with laboratory calculations, unit conversions, and concentration/dilution preparations.Proficiency with computers and laboratory software (LIMS, Excel, data entry).Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.Strong attention to detail, organization, and commitment to safety.The PerksBenefit package discussed at interviews.Nothing in this job description restricts the management's right to assign or reassign duties and responsibilities to this job at any time.Job offers are contingent upon a successful drug screen and background review.Albaugh, LLC is an Equal Opportunity Employer (EOE) M/F/Vets/Disabled.
