Description Position Summary: Student tutors facilitate student academic skill development. This position requires excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Tutors coordinate learning and provide one-to-one and small group tutoring within the Tutoring Center, as well as online. Tutors will work with students to assess their learning needs, set short-term goals for the session, long-term goals for academic development, and assist them in reaching those goals. Strong verbal and written communication. Ability to explain concepts clearly. Active listening and approachable demeanor. Strong interpersonal communication skills and the ability to work with a wide range of students.Physical Demands: Moving about between buildings on the NCMC campus, ascending and descending stairs, reaching, pulling, and pushing when filing, able to do repetitive tasks, remain stationary at a desk for extended periods of time.Environmental Demands: Fluctuations while walking on tile and carpeted floors in a heated and air conditioned environment.#J-18808-Ljbffr
